ITIL 4 Strategic Leader Certification Course: Environmental Analysis - Business Models
Business model: a formal description of how an organization should be configured to provide value to customers based on its strategy
Describes the optimal configuration of the organization to achieve its purpose relative to its environment
Three major themes:
- Value realization: how value is created through services and products
- How value is created (relationships, channels, customer segments, revenue streams)
- How the organization will fulfill its commitments and meet expectations
Two criteria for effective business models:
- They must tell a strong story about the value propositions
- They must have a viable financial model
